What they were
building on the wooden floor of the ferry, just
beyond one of the gang planks, was like a wooden
horse trailer affair. This ferry was so large
it had a gang plank at both ends and one in the
middle. They were building the contraption on
top of the ferry at the middle one. A frame was
being put together and it was beginning to look
like a box. J was greatly interested in carpentry,
and leant a helping hand wherever he could. He
found his tape measure again, and like all smart
boys, he began measuring the box and then taking
the tape still stretched out that length, to
measure the horses, so see if they would fit.
Mobe asked him what he was doing, for they WERE
talking horses, you know. "Oh nothing," replied
Julio and he ran off in the other direction.
He came back to the ferry and told them it would
need to be another 24 inches longer so they would
have room to eat and kick. "Righto!" said
Frazzle and he immediately talked to the wolves
about it. He heard them growling a little.
