They woke
late again, with green sunlight
coming in the portholes. Their elegant clothes
looked somewhat ruffled now, so they changed
into their everyday duds. J looked out the
porthole and said, "Hey Granma, we aren’t
moving." She slid on over to the porthole
and said, "Yer right. Better go down and
see what’s going on."
From their side of the ship they could see
only water. When they got up on deck they could
see that they were alongside the jetty to Freakin’
Far Out Island. The FF’s had already left on
their errands.
J went down to see the horses and found that
Frizzle and Frazzle had left a note to them:
‘Tomamos medidas y (we measured them and) gave
them some hay.’ F & F" Julio put
some water in their barrels and gave them a
little grain to top things off. Then he met
G on deck and showed her the note. Suddenly
they ran into Simeon who beckoned them in to
have breakfast. (It didn’t take much beckoning)
After another round of fried ham, along with
homemade rolls, eggs, and fruit, they were stuffed
again. I’m almost certain they would have gotten
quite chunky had they spent more time on The
Pink Bird. Simeon said "Vamos a ir al mercado;
a ver que hay. Van ustedes?" (we’re going
to the market to see what there is; are you going?" "Of
course," said G. "Wouldn’t miss it
for the world!"
