Just in case some
of you might think of Iraq as "only" an oil rich nation, ruled by an evil
dictator for 30 years. Whether it has been supporting terrorists or not, may
be very important. Here are a few facts regarding the importance of the role
that this nation has played throughout history.
*The garden of Eden was in Iraq
*Mesopotamia which is now Iraq was the cradle of civilization
*Noah built the ark in Iraq
*The Tower of Babel was in Iraq
*Abraham was from Ur, which is in Southern Iraq
*Isaac's wife Rebekah is from Nahor which is in Iraq
*Jacob met Rebecca in Iraq
*Jonah preached in Ninevah-which is in Iraq
*Assyria which is in Iraq, conquered the twelve tribes in Iraq
*Amos cried out in Iraq
*Babylon which is in Iraq, destroyed Jerusalem
*Daniel was in the lion's den in Iraq
*The 3 Hebrew boys were in the fire in Iraq (that's good news to know that
Jesus has been in Iraq too!)
*Belshazzar, the King of Babylon saw the "writing on the wall" in
Iraq---which hopefully Saddam will too!
*Nebuchadnezzer, King of Babylon, carried the Jews captive into Babylon.
*Ezekial preached in Iraq
*The wisemen were from Iraq

*The "Empire of Man" described in Revelation is called Babylon which was a
city in Iraq.
So, was Iraq important in centuries past, important today and important in
the future, in the fulfilling and completion of God's Word?
